The Cornhole Players Association (CPA) will be awarding one lucky CPA member a FREE entry into the American Tailgating Leagues Championships of Bags event ($125 value). But that’s not all. CPA members can also win sets of high quality, two-sided resin bags each month and non-CPA members can win free CPA memberships and shirts just for taking the CPA challenge! Best of all, it’s all completely free to enter!

Prizes and Time Frame

The CPA Challenge begins immediately and will be running for the next five months. On the first day of each month (beginning on 1/1/2012) we will split all of the entries from the previous month into two groups; CPA members and non-CPA members. One lucky CPA member will win a set of two-sided resin bags ($50 value) and two lucky non-CPA members will win a free FULL CPA Membership (valued at $25 each and comes with a CPA t-shirt). The remaining bag/membership drawings will be held on 2/1/2012, 3/1/2012 and 4/1/2012. Then, on 5/1/2012 every entry submitted to the CPA by CPA members during this promotion will be put into a drawing for the free entry into the ATL’s $15,000 Championships of Bags! (Entries submitted by players that are not members of the CPA will not be included in the Championships of Bags drawing)

How Can You Be a Part of It?

So, we know what you’re thinking, what do I have to do to be entered into these drawings? It’s really very simple, you can ask your local cornhole league/tournament director about it (if you’re local director is not aware of this, have them contact us at info@cornholeplayersassociation.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we’ll be glad to get him/her up to speed!) or, if you are currently a CPA member or know a CPA member already, you can take the following steps:

First, Download the appropriate PAR sheets. (Click Here!)

Second, print out two “CPA Singles PAR” sheet and one “CPA Competitive PAR” sheet.

Third, grab your local “pitching” friend and take the CPA Challenge! Have your friend throw 10 frames (4 bags per frame) while you track his/her results on one of the CPA Singles PAR sheets. Once your friend is finished, then switch; now you throw 10 frames while your friend tracks the results on the second CPA Singles PAR sheet. After you have each completed a CPA Singles PAR, you then play against each other 10 frames and track the results on the CPA Competitive PAR sheet. That’s it! In 30 minutes or less you’ll have your results, now just get your local director or a CPA member to sign-off on it and then you can scan and email the completed sheets to info@cornholeplayersassociation.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or, fax to 513-531-8636 and each of you will receive one entry into the monthly prize drawings.

Important Note

It’s imperative to note that in order to submit a PAR that is eligible for these drawings; you MUST be a CPA member OR have your local tournament/league director sign and verify your forms. You may submit as many as you wish each month but only the first 10 entries per person will be included in the monthly drawings. That means CPA members could put their name in the hat as many as 50 times if they submitted 10 each month! Each entry must include both a CPA Singles PAR AND a CPA Competitive PAR to be included in the monthly drawings.

So don’t wait, start submitting your results and increase your chances of winning one of these great prizes all while you play the game that you love! We know you’re already out there playing, so why not fill out the forms and try and win some great prizes while having some fun at the same time!

What are PAR Sheets?

PAR Sheets are a new and exciting measurement tool we’ve recently developed to help us obtain statistics for current and future projects and to also help bring more players to tournament directors.

Note: Cheating the system will not work in this case so trying to inflate your PAR score is insignificant. We will release more information on this down the road as we perfect our system. Have fun and please be honest about your results.

BLIND DRAW!

Following each league night, we will hold a blind draw league.

You only need to participate in 2 of 4 weeks to be eligible for the tournament in week 5.

Start time approximately 9:00 p.m.

Rules/Format as follows:

Cost per person $5.00 per week for 5 weeks of games. Must be paid at time of sign up/check in.

Anyone is welcome to play. You do not need to be a pro level player to play! Luck has as much to do with winning in this type of format as skill level.

You must participate in only 2 of the 4 league weeks to be eligible for the tournament week 5.

Straight Race to 21 formats, complete innings must be completed even if a team has reached 21.

4 weeks regular games leading up to 5th week double elimination tournament. You must play in at least 2 of the 4 weeks to be eligible to play in the tournament. Average scores will be used to determine a player's placing in the standings. This will eliminate any unfair advantage in points to a person who was in attendance all 4 weeks prior to the tournament. If you cannot make it one of the weeks, you will be awarded zero points for that week, and your average will not change for that week.

For example: Fred's scores for week 1 are 23, 22, 12, 13, 23, 23 for a total of 116

Fred cannot attend Week 2 so he scores no points.

Fred's Scores for week 3 are 18, 16, 23, 15, 21, 22 for a total of 115

Fred cannot attend Week 4 so he scores no points.

In week 1 and 3, Fred scored a total of 231 points in 12 games for an average of 19.25

Tony's scores for week 1 are 23, 23, 23, 12, 18, 15

Tony's scores for week 2 are 22, 21, 15, 27, 16, 13

Tony's scores for week 3 are 21, 17, 19, 21, 23, 22

Tony's scores for week 4 are 20, 18, 16, 22, 21, 19

In weeks 1 thru 4 Tony scored 467 points in 24 games for an average of 19.458

As you can see, by using averages, there is little advantage given to those players that will be able to attend each week, and we will not be excluding anyone from the chance to place in the tournament. You must have 2 weeks participation in the blind draw to play in the tournament. That is the only stipulation. Otherwise, all players will be invited to play in the tournament for the money on. (date to be determined). We will NOT be using handicaps for this blind draw session. 4 - 6 Rounds will be played each week (based on number of entrants).

Each round, all players will blind draw a new partner.

Players will score points based on their "team" score for each round.

For example, if Fred and Joe score 23 points as a team, they both receive 23 points.

Averages of these scores will be tabulated and after 4 weeks, we will have a double elimination

tournament to determine our blind draw winners.

Players will be divided up into an upper 1/2 of the bracket and

a lower 1/2 of the bracket and two separate brackets will be played in the tournament.

If we have 20 players in the tournament,

The pairings would be as follows:

Player 1 and Player 10

Player 2 and Player 9

Player 3 and Player 8

Player 4 and Player 7

Player 5 and Player 6

The players above will play in a 5 team double elimination tournament.

Player 11 and Player 20

Player 12 and Player 19

Player 13 and Player 18

Player 14 and Player 17

Player 15 and Player 16

The players above will also play in their own 5 team double elimination tournament.

Prizes will be $20 to the top point’s earner and $10 to the second place point’s earner each week. (Based on at least 10 players each week) The remainder of the entry fees each week will be put into the prize pot for the tournaments at the end of the session. Weekly cash winners may only claim cash prize two of the four weeks. After that, we will take the next highest names on the list so we can spread the wealth a little bit.
